Baseball Basics

0

Baseball betting is somewhat complex and there’s an ever-present element of doubt. But with time, careful research and study and passionate love of the game, you can be very successful in realizing your goal of making money.
Here are some key factors to consider before you actually make a wager.
The money line. In sports such as basketball and football, betting involves a point spread. In baseball, it’s the money line. Unless you make the effort to understand the money line you won’t win.
Won-lost records. Thoroughly examine the won-lost records of the ones with only a few wins. Also study their performance in recent games. If a team has won at least three games in a row, it’s worthy of serious consideration.
Team strengths. Carefully study various aspects of the teams in which you’re interested. This requires a great deal of time and patience. If you have neither, don’t bet.
Apart from pitching, which is a key element in any team’s success, you should examine the performance of the team’s middle strength, that is, the catcher, centerfielder, second baseman and shortstop. In addition, you should study the quality of its fielding, how it played both at home and on the road and how it fared during night games compared with those played in daylight.
After you have conscientiously done your homework and feel ready to wager, there’s one last step to consider. Go through the motions of betting in your mind. Make several imaginary wagers on the basis of your careful study. Then when you start showing a profit, you’re ready to bet for real.
